Biography

Born in Lebanon in 1975, Dr. Eid Atallah is a photographer, cinematographer, and educator with more than two decades of professional practice across Europe, the Levant, and the GCC. His formation combines scholarship and studio craft: a PhD in Visual Arts (2021), a Master’s in Visual & Performing Arts – Cinema (2013), and a Maîtrise in Photography (2001).

Since 1999, Eid has worked as a freelance photographer and cinematographer, delivering assignments that span advertising campaigns, fashion, architecture, jewelry, food, events, and documentaries, a breadth reflected in his exhibition history: Light and Shadows (1999), Landscape (2000), and Reflection / Space Time (1997–2001).

Alongside his creative work, Eid has built a sustained path in education: photography & cinema professor in Lebanon since 2005, preceded by earlier posts as photography professor (2000–2001) and photographer & laboratory manager(1997–2000). At FAPA (2018–present), he channels this experience into teaching Advanced Photography Techniquesand Director of Photography (DoP), emphasizing the interplay of light, narrative intent, and technical precision in both still and moving images.

Technically rigorous and industry-current, Eid has completed specialized trainings at INSAS, Brussels—including Workflow, RED, ALEXA, and Super 16/35mm cinematography—as well as advanced high-end digital camera and workflow courses, strengthening the bridge he builds for students between classical cinematography and contemporary digital practice.
